This project included a freestanding addition to the existing middle school consisting of traditional classrooms, a dedicated classroom for special needs students, and a dance studio. The linear orientation of the campus plan gives the Life Skills program a prominent position near the front of the school and integrates the jewel-box dance studio with the interior of the campus.

The dance studio features a large north-facing window wall and flying roof to maximize daylighting while reducing heat load from direct sun.

Wrapped in the light gray-brown brick of the existing campus, the addition emphasizes the blue-green glazed brick of the original building and introduces dark gray, corrugated metal panel to the campus palette.
